**Unit Description**

Sodexo Government Services in Guam has a very exciting new opportunity for a Purchasing Manager, to support the Guam Schools! We service and provide meals to the students of the Guam Department of Education. With an enrollment of approximately 32k students we serve over 22k meals daily.

The Purchasing Specialist supports the operation by managing all aspects of the procurement process as well as providing support in the development of menus meeting the needs of the National School Lunch Program as well as meeting the needs of the students.

This is a large scale opportunity managing procurement for all schools in Guam we feed 32k students. The position will work closely with our Sodexo team to provide them purchasing solutions as our managers operates with the Food and Nutrition Program for the students of GDOE under the regulations of the National School Lunch Program. This position will place orders to bring needed products and supplies on-island and then allocate them. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing all purchasing for the accounts, which would involve communication and coordination of all vendors, product rotations, taking ownership of all purchasing, overseeing invoices,presenting new items, and more.

The best qualified candidate would have knowledge and experience with purchasing at the unit level, with multi-unit experience preferred. Stellar analytical ability, communication and organizational skills are required.

**Position Summary**

Responsible to place orders using a purchase ordering system. Orders products and services based on established contracts. May assist corporate procurement to define contract terms. Coordinates delivery times and works to achieve the lowest costs of materials from suppliers with consideration to quality, reliability, and urgency of need.

Key Duties

- Purchases materials and supplies based on established contracts with manufacturers and other suppliers.

- Coordinates Sodexo purchasing strategies to ensure that the Company is purchasing products/services at the most competitive prices and mark up structure, while accounting for the quality and service level required by the business line.

- Ensures product availability and quality based on account operator needs. Manages inventory to reduce waste.

- Assists with the resolution of product selection, distribution, pricing, cost control, receiving, and inventory control issues.

**Qualifications & Requirements**

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
