DoDEA is a major Department of Defense (DoD) Field Activity with worldwide scope. DoDEA plans, directs, and coordinates, and manages the education programs for DoD dependents.
DoDEA consists of three regions, DoDEA Americas, DoDEA Europe, and DoDEA Pacific and a total of eight school districts located overseas and in the U.S. and its territories. DoDEA provides education to eligible DoD military and civilian dependents from pre-kindergarten through grade 12.

### Responsibilities
* Performs simple repetitive lunchroom, recess, classroom, and bus monitoring duties maintaining the safety and welfare of the students.
* Identifies and reports known or suspected problems, issues, or concerns to the appropriate staff, faculty member, or other official (e.g., military police) in accordance with established policies and procedures. The work may be performed in a cafeteria, a designated lunch site, outdoor or indoor recess area, a bus loading and unloading area, or any combination of these or similar areas.
* Assembles students at designated points and monitors dismissal and movement through halls while moving students to the cafeteria. Monitors lunchroom activities to maintain order. Brings problems and consistent student misbehavior to the attention of the Lead Monitor. Monitors lunchroom cleanup and assists students to place paper and uneaten food into appropriate disposal receptacles. At the end of the lunch period, assembles students at designated lineup areas for movement back to the classrooms.
* Monitors a designated recess area. Assures safe recess activities by demonstrating safe play practices and use of playground equipment. Enforces safety rules. Maintains order and safety to prevent unsafe/dangerous practices. Prevents altercations between students.
* Monitors a designated number of classrooms by patrolling the halls and classrooms.
* Assists students to use the restrooms and instructs in basic personal hygiene practices.
* Assuring students safely enter and exit buses and are placed on the right bus when departing for home.

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:**
* All candidates must be U.S. Citizens and reside within the local commuting area where the position is located. Local commuting area is defined as the geographic area surrounding a work site that encompasses the localities where people live and reasonably can be expected to travel back and forth daily to work based on the generally held expectations of the local community. (5 CFR 575.203)

* Applicants may be required to complete a 2-year probationary or trial period.
* You will be required to participate in Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer in accordance with DoD Regulation 7000.14R.
* Selectee must undergo Background Checks IAW DoDI 1402.5 (e.g. Local Files Check, State Criminal History Records Check, and National Agency Check Inquiries). Employment in these positions is subject to successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet/maintain these requirements may be grounds for termination.

General Experience: You must have three (3) months of general work experience; graduated from high school or completed GED program.
General experience is defined as progressively responsible clerical, office or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
### Education
You may qualify for this position if you have completed high school or GED.
### Additional information
Work schedules may be part-time, full-time or school year seasonal. Some positions are part-time with seasonal work schedules. School year seasonal work schedules include periods in a non-pay/non-duty status during the holiday, spring and summer recess periods.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
