### Summary
You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) Division, of the Plans and Base Level Communications Department of NAVAL COMP TELCOM AREA WESTPAC.
A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 13.01% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time.

Term appointments may be extended up to 6 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations. Additionally, You may be noncompetitively converted to permanent career-conditional or career appointments under specific conditions.

### Responsibilities
* You will install a variety of basic communication electronic equipment and systems.
* You will interpret electronic schematic drawings and digital telecommunications network, systems, sub-systems drawings, blueprints in understanding the application of communication network.
* You will design test setups and experiments to measure and develop criteria pertinent to the feasibility of preliminary information systems network projects.
* You will maintain automated communication systems test equipment through calibration and alignment.
* You will perform back-up data collection (e.g. Image, Journal, File, Station Message Detailed Recording, etc.) required by Base Communication Office.

* This is an overseas position. You will be subject to and must be able to satisfy the overseas requirements of the 26Jul12 DODI 1400.25 V1230:
* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
* You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

### Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: evaluating design and performing inspections of electrical systems; proposing procedural instructions for electrical systems; directing and resolving diagnostic techniques to repair, maintain, or calibrate digital electronic systems or equipment.

This position has been designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position in specialty area SA 44 and as a condition of employment incumbents of this position are required to comply with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirements of SECNAVm-5239.2, which include:
* Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualifications Matrix (described in SECNAV M-5239.2) associated with the specialty area and level commensurate with the scope of major assigned duties for the position to which you are assigned, and;
* Per SECNAVINST 1543.2, Cyber IT/CSWF individuals shall participate annually in 40 hours of continuous learning (CL) activities to be documented in a current individual development plan (IDP) signed by both the employee and supervisor.

Technician may be required to work for extended period of time as a result of natural disaster,emergency crises,corrective maintenance,preparation and implementation of major system upgrade.Majority of the work is performed at the Naval Computer Telecommunications Station (NCTS) Guam Base Level communications host facility,Remote Switching Centers, Patch and Test Facility,Technical control Center,Telecommunications Service Provider Facility,Pier Side Facility, Manholes and Cable Huts and customer's premises.The incumbent is subject to falls,strains,and minor bruises,cuts/electrical shock.A significant amount of work is required in the field and at customer locations where the technician will be exposed to rain,heat humidity and variety of conditions that impact safety.Technician may be required to work on the Base Level Communications fiber optic,T1 repeaters and cables located underneath the main road and or alongside w/safety sign setup for compliance that is mandatory.
