### Responsibilities
Indefinite employees are temporary in nature but without a time limit. An indefinite appointment does not confer permanent status. Benefits are the same as a permanent technician with the exception of tenure (indefinite appointees do not serve a trial period). Indefinite employees pay into the retirement system, receive annual, sick, and military leave, and are eligible to participate in the health and life insurance programs. Incumbent may be converted to permanent technician status without further competition.

* This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
* Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
* Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
* Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
* Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
* May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
* Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
### Qualifications
**Military Grades**: Enlisted, E4 to E5
**Compatible Military Assignments**: 36, 92A, 92Y, 92Z, 00F
**GENERAL EXPERIENCE**: All series personnel must be certified at the next higher level before being eligible for that level and must have minimum on-the-job experiences in the grade immediately below the next higher level. An applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade.
**SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:**Is experience that prepares the applicant to perform the duties of the position. To qualify, may substitute the applicant's educational-degree study program or specific academic courses for some specialized experiences. An applicant must demonstrate the following specialized experience competencies (skills, knowledge, abilities and behaviors) to qualify for a position identified by its applicable position grade and career level.
### Education
To qualify for GS-0561 dual status technician positions on the basis of completed college education, the studies must be in one of -or- be a combination of the following required disciplines: Accounting, business, finance, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organizational management. Technician applicants, who completed the Army or the Air Force Financial Technical School Course and were awarded the applicable and compatible military skills, are considered minimally qualified for the GS-07 position. As a condition of continued employment in the GS-0561 positions, employees must complete Level One Certification within 24 months of appointment to their positions.
**You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.**

of nonstandard procedures or to provide assistance in the development of automated
procedures for clerical operations.
* Knowledge of extensive and diverse budget regulations, operations and procedures
governing a wide variety of types of related transactions to resolve nonstandard transactions,
complaints or discrepancies, provide advice or perform other work that requires authoritative
procedural knowledge.
